Tanzania :: Africa's Pearl

Africa at its best! A natural setting to say to you, large hordes of wild animals, the highest mountain in Africa, the Masai tribes and the pearly blue beaches of Zanzibar. This is what the earthly paradise must have looked like!

We rent our motorbikes in Dar Es Salaam, the starting point of our 11-day adventure. Along the coast we drive north towards Tanga, from where we head inland to the Usambara Mountains. Fantastic views and single road villages, hidden in the tropical rainforest, far away from the hustle and bustle. And then suddenly the Kilimanjaro looms in front of you, with its 5,895 m the highest mountain on the African continent. We make a full tour at the foot of the 'Kili' and drive close to the Kenyan border on those typical red dirt roads.

Via Arusha we continue towards NgoroNgoro, with its 20 km diameter, 600 meters depth and with a surface of 300 m2 the largest volcanic crater in the world. Elephants, lions, zebras, leopards, buffaloes, hippos and gazelles are at home here. The Masai in their bright red clothing live peacefully with these wild animals in their small huts.

We rent a 4x4 for a day and go into the crater with a local guide for a beautiful safari in this unlikely natural wonder.

After a day's rest, we jump back on our motorbike and drive east. We pass in review: countless local villages, small market stalls and ... elephants and zebras, just like that in the wild. In Dar Es Salaam we take the ferry to Zanzibar to recover from our adventure on Freddie Mercury's birth island. Here you get the chance to snorkel with dolphins, dive with the most colorful fish and visit Stone Town. We conclude in style with a beach party on the pearly white beaches of our stay in the Kendwa Rocks Resort.

You take your luggage with you on your motorcycle. Our 4x4 drives along as an assistance vehicle, with our food, spare fuel, etc. We alternately sleep in safari tents and in luxurious lodges. The last 2 days we enjoy a luxury resort in Zanzibar (highly recommended!!).
